And the Award Goes To...Sharon Meredith!

Congratulations to Sharon Meredith for receiving the Sylvia Yam Award of Teaching Excellence. This award, sponsored by the Saskatchewan Chapter of Carl Orff Canada, recognizes an outstanding music educator within our province.

Sylvia Yam, throughout her teaching career, demonstrated a great passion for music and the Orff    approach and she inspired, encouraged, and empowered those around her to do the same. Sharon was nominated for this award by her peers as a music educator who encompasses all of these outstanding qualities. 

Sharon has taught Arts Education with Regina Public Schools for 22 years and is currently at Douglas Park School. Sharon’s experience has primarily been in the areas of classroom music, choir and musical theatre. The positive relationships Sharon has with her students creates a learning environment in which the students feel valued, safe, inspired and loved. Sharon always puts her students first and ensures that all students have the opportunity to showcase their talents and build on their strengths. Sharon’s energy is contagious and she motivates both students and colleagues to strive for excellence in everything they do.
