Student - Trustee Forum a Success

Student - Trustee Forum a Success

High school students and their principals from all nine Regina Public Schools high schools gathered on April 29, 2014 for the Student - Trustee Forum.

The theme of the event was "Balancing our High Schools".

This forum is an opportunity for Trustees to hear first hand from students and to learn about some of the issues, challenges and successes that they see in their day to day school lives.

The sessions featured a Student/Trustee/Division Staff interactive session that asked:

    • What is important to you about the curricular program in the High School you attend?
    • What is important to you about the extra – curricular program in the High School you attend?
    • What do you wish your school had that it doesn’t?
    • What are/were the factors that influenced your school choice?
    • What is your advice to us in order to achieve our goals of equity between our High Schools?

These school principal-led interactive sessions were followed by a group debrief and conversation.

This is the third Student-Trustee Forum to be held at Regina Public Schools.

Balfour Collegiate Principal Corrine Miller and Thom Collegiate Principal Rick Steciuk and Trustees Karla Beck and Cindy Anderson have a lively conversation with the students.
