W.S.Hawrylak Students Write About The Olympics!

Since January 6, 2014, Mme. Stanton’s grade 7/8 French immersion class at W.S. Hawrylak School has been preparing for the Olympics Games in Sochi, Russia.

They have been decorating bulletin boards in the classroom and around the school, researching the Olympic teams of different countries and designing medals and mascots. They have also built and painted a paper maché inukshuk to display for the whole school.

For the past three weeks, they have been working hard on writing articles in English and French for a bilingual newspaper all about the Olympics. Their newspaper has articles about Canada, imagined interviews with athletes and coaches, crosswords and word searches as well as advertisements. They were so proud of their newspaper that they shared it with other classes!

And now they share it with the world! See it here!
