Sucessfull 2012 RPS Annual General Meeting

The Regina Board of Education held its Annual General Meeting of Electors on Tuesday, May 8th at 7:00 p.m. In addition to being a place to conduct the
business of the Board and report on the previous school year, this meeting is a chance for parents, staff and community members to ask questions and provide their feedback directly to the Board. “I consider this meeting a success because of the number of people who turned out to participate in the process,” says Julie MacRae, Director of Education.

The Board had the opportunity to hear directly from a number of groups on many issues that were important to the community and to our own staff. The success of this meeting is another example of how Regina Public Schools is publically accountable, encourages the democratic process, and will take the time to listen to parents, staff and community members.”

The highlight of the meeting, however, was not the Board business or the lively question-and-answer session. It was the showcase of notable student activities throughout the school division, including some lively dancing from Dr. George Ferguson students.
