News About Noon Hour Supervision
Noon Hour Supervision at Regina Public Schools
Recently in the news media, it has been reported that Universal Noon Hour Supervision will be eliminated at Regina Public Schools as part of its 2015-16 Budget.
Here is what you need to know:
- The proposed changes to noon-hour supervision WILL NOT take effect until the 2016-17 School Year.
- The school division will consult and collaborate with parents, School Community Councils and Staff prior to any changes being made.
- Students who have lunch at school, because they are transported, will continue to be supervised.
This proposed change and a number of others ones are, in part, an attempt for Regina Public Schools to deal with provincial funding challenges.
Our goal is to work to continue to meet our strategic priorities and to not impact student learning and pupil teacher ratios. Read about our Strategic priorities here: http://www.rbe.sk.ca/school-board/mission/continuous-improvement
