RPS responds to growth in new Regina communities

Regina Public Schools is accountable to the families it serves. Recently, some Regina neighbourhoods and communities have experienced exponential growth. The schools too that serve those communities have also seen increased enrolment. Harbour Landing is one such community.

In accordance to Administrative Procedure 310, a review was conducted and the Harbour Landing community was assigned to the Dr. A.E. Perry School attendance area in 2009. Growth in Harbour Landing has continued and has increased rapidly in the past two years.

In March, 2013, the school division conducted a school community consultation. As a result, Regina Public Schools is changing the school attendance and transportation area to ensure that both Dr. A.E. Perry School and nearby Ethel Milliken School have an equitable volume of students.

These changes are to take effect in the 2013-14 school year.
